They were the miracle that saved the world. They were never meant to survive it.
For years, the Nursery Act was the miracle that ended a fertility crisis. Empty homes filled with children, birth numbers climbed, and a society that had begun to plan for its own quiet end believed it had been saved.
No one asked what a program that could grant a generation might also intend for it.
When a single analyst begins to read the records too closely, a question surfaces that families across the world are not ready to face, one that will take three decades, and everything they love, to answer.
The Grace Period is a sweeping literary dystopia of reproductive technology, institutional power, grief, and the ferocious love of parents for children the world was never built to keep.
