This gospel-centered small-group guide invites participants to pursue lasting freedom from addiction through God’s grace rather than performance or shame.
Grace-Based Recovery equips addiction recovery and support groups with nine practical, easy-to-use lessons that uncover the difference between behavior-focused recovery and transformation rooted in grace. Rather than fostering fear or punishment, this study creates a safe, supportive space where participants can learn from setbacks, confront false beliefs, and experience the hope and dignity God offers to those who feel stuck or defeated.
Author Jonathan Daugherty—founder of BeBroken Ministries and host of the Pure Sex podcast and radio show—writes from nearly two decades of personal recovery experience and over fifteen years in professional ministry. After realizing that good behavior alone could never free him from addiction, he discovered deep transformation through the grace of Christ. This study encourages participants to see recovery as a lifelong journey of growth, courage, and healing, offering biblical wisdom and practical exercises that point to confidence, worth, and lasting change in Jesus.
- Presents a grace-driven model of recovery that replaces fear, shame, and performance with dignity, honesty, and hope.
- Nine structured lessons provide group leaders with accessible content, practical exercises, and biblical guidance for real transformation.
- Encourages readers and participants to embrace recovery as a lifelong process, trusting God’s grace to bring continual growth and freedom.
