About this Item
A steel engraved view of Government House. Built of locally quarried sandstone, it was the most sophisticated example of Gothic Revival architecture in the colony. Here it is seen framed by trees, with a view of the harbor and ships, and a seated female observer at lower right. Engraved by John Saddler, from 'Australia' by Edwin Carton Booth. Later hand color, 11 X 8 1/4". Trove 7370592. Seller Inventory # 21181
