Originally published under the title Ancient Architecture Restored and Improved in 1742 but more reissued in an edition of 1747 under the title Gothic Architecture. This late 18th century reissue contains the dissertation on Gothic Architecture from the 1742 issue, which was not in the 1747 edition. Later half calf over brown boards, with 5 raised bands to spine, gilt titling and decoration, some light spotting and age toning, small wormhole to margin of 3 text leaves, Signature of Edward Carolin to title page, possibly the Carpenter/Builder of Dublin. .
