- Book 2 of 3: The Raccoons
For children who grew up in the mid-80s and early 90s, The Raccoons was required viewing. Mixing anarchic humour with great storytelling, this classic Canadian animation TV series focused on the exploits of Bert Raccoon, his best friend Cedric Sneer, Melissa and Ralph, Schaeffer the dog, and, of course, the dastardly pink aardvark, Cyril Sneer.
"One look at this place and you'll fall in love... The unspoiled beauty of nature."
Bert Raccoon, Cedric and Bentley have a secret fishing spot - a beautiful wild lake, home to a legendary catfish called Old Tom. This secret spot is so precious that even Cyril Sneer, now an environmental crusader, loves it and won’t trade it for a big net profit.
But it doesn’t remain a secret for very long. Soon, industry wants a bite of the pond, and all of the Evergreen Forest will suffer. But will anyone face the scales of justice?
This is a story of a community coming together to fight for what’s right… and you’ll be hooked!
This new series of Raccoons books has been specifically created to encourage parents to read along with their children. Each easy-read novel has seven chapters - one for each day of the week - and each chapter contains beautiful illustrations by Terry Cooper based on the original TV series artwork. Alongside this, the books feature QR codes which allow the reader to access additional interactive video and music content, bringing these classic stories to life for a whole new generation!
