Paperback. Legendary gossip columnist Norma Stone checks her watch as she sips a drink on a patio overlooking the Las Vegas Strip. A moment later, she's dead, shot through the mouth on a hot Nevada night. In this fast-paced witty suspense novel, one murder turns quickly into two, and shady business ventures, a web of affairs, and ties to the Mob begin to complicate things for Buzz Levin, who was last seen winning cases and solving crimes in Die, Decorator, Die. The number one suspect, Norma's husband's high society ex-wife, hires Boston trial lawyer Levin to defend her. Lawyers get into people's lives, but only decorators can get into people's homes, so Levin enlists the help of his interior decorator wife, Ally. In a story that jumps between high-rolling Las Vegas and Boston's Brahmin enclaves, the modern day Nick-and-Nora team must rely on their wit, sleuthing skills, decorating talents and legal know-how to solve the murder, get Buzz's client off, and return to sipping Martinis in Nantucket. The banter is sharp, the murders complex, and the cast of characters which include a gold digging boyfriend, a buffet-loving private investigator, and a litigious billionaire colorful. All come together in a fast and fun story featuring one of the most appealing new crime-solving couple in contemporary fiction. This item is printed on demand.
