292 pages. tidy copyGoodbye to All That is an account of Bryan Gould's lifelong passion for Britain combined with a scathing condemnation of the failures of Socialism to fulfil the promise of the early 1960s. As a young MP and, later, as a prominent member of the Shadow Cabinet, Gould has always fought for change. A committed anti-federal ist and a consistent critic of Labour's embrace of monetarism under Callaghan an d Healey, he believes that Labour wasted its opportunities to propose a radical economic and social alternative to the politics of the establishment. Insightful , clear-eyed and provocative, Goodbye To All That is a brilliant political memoi r from a brilliant political thinker.
