Cave was a photographer and archaeologist who visited Ceylon (Sri Lanka) on several occasions and photographed what he saw, in this case concentrating on the great tea plantations of the island. Includes 214*b/w photographs. xii, 474pp. Boards and spine intricate gilt decoration. Gilt lettering to spine. Spine cloth sunned. Corners lightly turned. Lower edges of boards rubbed. Three small red stains to lower board. Slight roll to spine. Split to hinges of pastedowns, front and rear, these have not damaged the book's integrity. Foxing to endpapers and gassine paper covering frontis.
