I am pleased to be able to offer a very nice copy of one of the classics of the literature of anthropology: ?The Golden Bough- A Study in Magic and Religion? by Sir James George Frazer. This is a large hard cover book (6 ¼ x 8 ¾ inches, 752 pages), abridged and presented in one volume dated 1925 and published by The Macmillan Company of New York. There is a tissue-guarded pastoral scene as the frontispiece. It is bound in finely ribbed, dark blue framed boards with gilt titles on the spine. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers are lightly bumped and there are two small smudges to the finish of the front board. The spine is a bit dust-dulled and the gilt titles not as bright as they once were. There is some light foxing on the back side of the glossy frontis page but not elsewhere in the book. In fact, the interior pages are surprisingly clean and bright throughout, without further foxing or toning. Both hinges are intact and the binding is tight, sound and square.
