It blends personal journey with historic moments—from the first gold finds to the political tensions of the Civil War era on the West Coast.
Readers will encounter real-life scenes of travel, migration, and daily life in a booming frontier, along with thoughtful reflections on industry, technology, and immigration that framed the era’s opportunities and costs.
