Neuware - If anyone had told Lena her dream of becoming a mega-church First Lady would destroy everything she held dear, she would not have believed them. Had anyone told Aliyah that finally having the baby she longed for wouldn't bring her all the joy she imagined, she would have said they were wrong. Connie's carefully constructed facade of perfection around her life was all she had, and it would befoolish to suggest she might be the one to tear it all down. Yet, these not-so-happily ever afters are exactly what these women were facing. The struggle to keep private things private, manage the expectations of followers, and keep up appearances is never easy, but for the wives of mega-church pastors, the need tobe perfect grows exponentially. God's Daughters and Their Almost Happily Ever Afters interweaves the stories of Lena, Aliyah, and Connie who each face mounting challenges, pervasive demons, and personal failures as they try to dealwith disappointments in their marriages, revelations of deeply buried secrets, and desperation for acceptance. In theend, they may not have the ideal life they thought they wanted, but they will find their way to the comfort, joy, andsecurity that comes from being honest and surrendered to the will of God. …
