Two Volumes. 6 1/4 inches x 9 1/2 in., frontispiece engraving (The Light of Home); engraved Godey's 1860 title-page; color neddlepoint pattern, color fashion plate: "The Bride"; pattern, wood engraving; contents to Volume 60; 574 pp.; engraved frontispiece (Summer); color fashion plate: "An Outdoors Scene"; patterns; 571 pp. Illustrated with steel and wood engravings, patterns for lace, colored needlepoint designs, printed music, etc. Volume 60 has four colored fashion plates: January, March, April, June, and a colored needlepoint design; Volume 61 has five colored fashion plates: July, August, September, October, November. One colored scenic plate; two colored needlework plates, plates of designs in blue or tan. Both volumes are now disbound, but with both covers present; these are of red cloth with red leather sides and corners and a mounted red leather label on the front cover, with a gilt-lettered, early owner's name: Mrs. A. Starr. Printed bookseller's labels on the inner front covers: J. B. Cobb & Co. Booksellers, Cleveland, O[hio]., penciled name & binding instructions on the title-page: C. S. Hobbs. The covers are detached, with some portions of the spine leather to volume 61, still present. Plates show some tanning, brown spotting to steel engravings, some pages. Weight: 4 1/2 lbs. Postage may be extra on this item. Article on how tea is grown and prepared as a commodity: "Tea for the Ladie's and where it comes from" (Vol. 60; pp. 301-308 & #97-405). Wood engraving of a Christmas Tree, with an accompanying story (Vol. 60; p. 481 & p. 505). Contains various features, as: "Wonderful Things" (about rare & unusual or famous items, antiques); Editor's Corner; section for cookery recipes, many for now practically unknown preparations. 2 lbs.
