Most books about ministry fundraising focus solely on finances and how quickly they should be received. With this as the foundation for raising support in the Christian realm, entire conversations that have the potential to be centered on God and His work are now interrupted by money demands, often creating an uncomfortable atmosphere for both the asker and the receiver. God does not call us on the support-raising journey to abandon us. All dollar amounts and timeframes are in His hands. First and foremost, God is concerned about our own spiritual growth as He uses every circumstance, whether easy or difficult, to shape us into the likeness of Christ. Along the way, He simply calls us to be obedient and faithful to do our part. That means the support-raising journey is God-ordained and much bigger than just racing through the checklists as fast as we can to get to the finish line. Everyone's journey is different, and everyone is being molded by the Father's hand. God and Elephants: A Worshipper's Guide to Raising Support puts Christ back at the center of raising money for your ministry. It is a tool that shows people how to recognize God at work in their lives-how He is stirring their hearts and working in their particular ministries-and teaches them how to put that story into words so that others can worship God as well. This changes the dynamics of raising funds from being a business meeting that people fear and want to avoid to an opportunity to become worship leaders who help others engage in what God is doing here and around the world. Creating a worshipful atmosphere so others can participate in God's work is the true heart of what raising ministry funds is all about.…
