In the 15 cute entries Harris creates relatable yet fun ways to share with one another on essential topics. Fifteen entries, illustrations, a seek and find activity, and a Connecting Ideas section offers a tool to people who want to create connection with young, old, and those in between in simple or in deeper ways.
Discuss the tug of war between life, faith, and emotions. Be amazed together at little things through adventures. Relate to the power of the word “help” and “thank you.” Treasure telling the truth and spending time. Find out names God the Father calls you. Learn or create a hand game. Animals are at every turn as you remember “God’s Love through Jesus Rocks.” Wander together with a squirrel superhero or a ducky friend. Giggle with a skunk, a possum, and a beaver. Talk about friendship and faith. Find a special place where you can feel the love and adventure that surrounds you even on hard days. Spot ways to connect with family and friends alike in a way as simple as sharing a story or a smile. Venture into discussions of faith with various scripture references and discuss how the scripture might relate to the story or your own story.
All in all, this collection of stories can be as complicated or as simple as you want it to be.
(For deeper discussion and older audiences another book, God is Always Chasing After You with Smiles to Share, contains the same stories as well as more about the author’s journey with her family through the critical illness and ultimately loss of her daughter. A book for those facing the healing journey of life through caretaking, critical illness, and loss.)
