See photos for condition details. Hardcover with dust jacket that still has the original price of $1.00 on the front flap, lower corner. DJ is missing a large chip at the bottom of the front along with some smaller chipping on the spine edges. The underside of the jacket was neatly reinforced with masking tape along the top and bottom edges, along with a smaller area in the center. Over the many decades the tape has darkened the outside of the jacket and has become dry and brittle. Gray cloth boards underneath are still clean with only minor edge wear. There is also a small spot in the bottom of the spine which lines up to the missing part on the jacket. This is a review copy that was sent out by the publisher showing a release date of November 9, 1942. This information is stamped on the front end page, which is the only found markings in the book. There are no signatures, no bookplates, no pages or torn or loose. Binding is tight like it was only read once or twice. The copyright page states it was first published in November 1942 and then reprinted the same month, which is why this was marked as a second printing. This is odd considering this is a review copy which is typically sent out before the book is officially released to the public.…
