About the Author: D.G. Amphlett, who lives in Gloucestershire, is an historian who has studied the history of the West Country for many years. He has an MA in history and is currently undertaking research in preparation for a Phd. During his time at the University of Wales, Lampeter, he ran the university's History Society. His first book, The Bristol Book of Days, was published in October 2011.
