About the Author

The Author: Prabir De is Fellow of the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the Jadavpur University, Calcutta. He has contributed several research papers to international journals and written books on trade and development. His research interests include international trade and development, regional economics, and transport and maritime economics.
