The global authority of the West is no longer unchallenged; the Western worldview is no longer accepted as universal. It is increasingly being questioned by emerging economies around the globe that are developing their own standards. If we look at the geographical positions of the emerging economies, it appears that they collectively form a belt around the southern part of the globe: "The Global Southern Belt."
The Westerncentric world is fading into a multicentered world in which many countries and even more important, "a world of cities" will set the tone in global matters. The game changers will be the countries and cities of the Global Southern Belt, which will reshape our world in the decades to come.
Like John Naisbitt’s international bestselling book Megatrends in 1982, Global Game Change offers an indispensable roadmap of the transforming global landscape. It replaces the uncertainty of rapid change with a description of the future.

About the Author
John Naisbitt, Chairman of Naisbitt China Institute, has been in the limelight of the publishing world since 1982, when his book Megatrends was published. As a New York Times number one bestseller for almost two years, it was one of the publishing’s greatest success stories, selling more than 14 million copies in 57 countries. The Wall Street Journal called his work “triumphantly useful … taking bearings in all directions and giving us the courage to do the same.”
Megatrends was followed by international bestsellers including Re-inventing the Corporation in 1985, Megatrends 2000 in 1990, Global Paradox in 1992, Megatrends Asia in 1995, High Tech High Touch in 1999, and MindSet! in 2006.
John Naisbitt holds 21 honorary doctorate degrees from and professorships at American, Chinese, and Russian universities and South Korea’s Pukyong National University.
In his early career, John Naisbitt has been an executive at Kodak and IBM. At the age of 34, he was appointed as the assistant secretary of education to President John F. Kennedy. After the president’s assassination he became a special assistant to President Lyndon Johnson. Urged by the social and racial turbulences in America’s cities, John Naisbitt began analysis of social, economic, and political developments in the United States, which led to the publication of Megatrends in 1982.
Doris Naisbitt, an observer of global social, economic, and political trends, is the Director of the Naisbitt China Institute. She is also the President of the John Naisbitt University, Belgrade, the largest private university in Europe. She is a co-author of the bestseller Megatrends China: Eight Pillars of a New Society, The China Model, and Innovation in China: The Chengdu Triangle and the author of Mai-Lin My China. She holds professorships at Nankai, Yunnan, and Yunnan Normal Universities in China and Skolkovo Open University in Russia.
Doris Naisbitt entered the publishing world at the age of 39, after working in the production of television documentaries for Walter Davy, an award-winning director. She has a distinguished career in publishing, serving as the head of the Austrian publishing house, SignumVerlag. During her tenure, she upgraded the company by acquiring internationally known authors and establishing SignumVerlag as a player in the broader German language market, including Germany and Switzerland. Other international authors whom she has brought to the German language market include Peter Senge, the author of the world-acclaimed Fifth Discipline, and Don Tapscott, the author of the ground-breaking new book Wikinomics.
