She was born in the dark.
She learned to eat the light.
Now the light is coming to eat her back.
The Glass Scepter is the second book in Megan Wood's Silver-Rot Chronicles, an epic fantasy romance for readers who want their love stories threaded through with cosmic stakes, visceral magic, and heroines who refuse to kneel.
Elara Vance is dying.
The Silver-Rot that comes from consuming fallen star-energy is turning her to glass from the inside out, and she cannot stop because stopping means her sister dies in the cold.
Swept into the floating city of Oros and caught in a political war between a power-hungry Inquisitor and a rogue prince with a crown-shaped agenda, Elara has never been more isolated.
Or more watched.
Kaelen Thorne is a Herald of the Void, four centuries old, celestially cold, and bound by duty to reclaim every stolen shard of starlight Elara has ever consumed. He is everything she should fear. And yet, in a world of gilded liars and marble-faced gods, he is the only one who sees her clearly.
What begins as predator and prey evolves into something the universe never accounted for: two broken things learning to hold each other together while the sky falls apart around them.
Perfect for fans of Fourth Wing, The Bridge Kingdom series, and From Blood and Ash readers who crave slow-burn tension, morally complex heroes, a heroine with fire in her bones, and a romance that costs everything.
The Glass Scepter delivers dark world-building, pulse-racing action, and a love story as cold and devastating as starlight.
The Great Harvest has begun. And the Glass Queen is only just getting started.
