"Glass Making in England" provides an authoritative and comprehensive survey of the history and technical evolution of glass production in Britain. Authored by a prominent figure in the industry, this work meticulously traces the development of the craft from the Roman period and the Middle Ages through to the innovations of the early twentieth century. The text explores the various branches of the trade, including the manufacture of stained glass, vessel glass, and the renowned English flint glass.

Focusing on the materials, methods, and artistic styles that defined different eras, the book examines the geographic centers of production and the socio-economic factors that influenced the industry's growth. Detailed accounts of craftsmanship and industrial transitions offer valuable insights for historians, collectors, and students of industrial art. This volume remains a significant contribution to the study of British decorative arts and manufacturing heritage, preserving the legacy of a vital traditional industry through expert observation and historical research.
