Are you ready to write better code, solve complex programming problems faster, and spend less time on repetitive development tasks? What if you could turn your IDE into a more intelligent workspace, use AI assistance more effectively, and build software with greater confidence? And how can you make GitHub Copilot work for you rather than simply accepting whatever code it suggests?
GitHub Copilot in Practice: Accelerating Software Development with Agentic Workflows, Prompt Engineering, and IDE Automation by Arjun Mehta is your practical guide to answering these questions and transforming the way you approach modern software development.
Whether you are a beginner exploring AI-assisted coding or an experienced developer looking to improve your productivity, this book helps you understand how to integrate GitHub Copilot into your everyday workflow. How do you write prompts that produce more relevant code? How can you evaluate AI-generated suggestions, identify potential errors, and maintain control over your implementation? You will learn how to approach these challenges with practical techniques that support better programming decisions.
What if you could move beyond code completion and use AI assistance throughout your development process? Explore agentic workflows, prompt engineering strategies, and IDE automation techniques that can help streamline coding, refactoring, debugging, testing, and other essential tasks. Discover how to break down complex requirements, guide AI tools with clearer instructions, and review generated code critically instead of relying on suggestions without verification.
Can repetitive development activities be simplified? Can you use AI to accelerate your workflow without sacrificing readability, maintainability, or code quality? This book examines practical approaches to working more efficiently while keeping software engineering fundamentals firmly in focus.
You will also develop a stronger understanding of the limitations of AI-generated code, the importance of security-conscious development, and the need to validate outputs before integrating them into real projects.
The goal is not simply to code faster; it is to make better decisions, build more reliable software, and use AI assistance intelligently.
