What if the very thing that makes you different becomes your greatest gift?
The Girl Who Lived in a Box is a symbolic and poetic illustrated tale for every child who has ever felt like they don't quite belong — and for the grown-ups who love them.
Perfect for bedtime reading and sweet dreams — Sparks meaningful conversations with your child at any time of the day — Resonates with girls and boys of all ages
High above a hollow kingdom, a girl named Mylandra lives alone in a floating box. Rejected for her difference — deep blue shimmering hands — she was sent away into the sky. From her window, she watches the world below, wondering if she will ever find her place.
Each night, she asks the stars how to break free. But the stars only shimmer in silence.
Until a glowing four-leaf clover drifts through her window… and something extraordinary awakens within her.
As Mylandra finds the courage to share her voice, her music travels across the sky — reaching other children hidden in their own floating boxes — and gently setting them free.
A luminous story about:
- Self-acceptance and embracing what makes you unique
- Courage, connection, and kindness
- The powerful magic of discovering your gifts and rising above adversity
The Girl Who Lived in the Box and The Journey of the Heart series are adapted from the adult fairytale The Journey of the Heart by the same author.
