Item description from seller

(1950s?) facsimile edition, 123 pages, frontis, photos, owner name, slight edge wear to jacket, slight stain and wrinkling on jacket, The family was enroute from Georgia to Colorado when they were attacked by Indians in Kansas. Both father and mother were killed along with three of their children. Four daughters were taken captive. The youngest two were rescued by the army ( LT. Frank Baldwin, 6th Cavalry), and the others were released after the army provided food and gifts to the Indians. This facsimile edition is often incorrectly listed as the first printing. While there are slight differences, the correction made on page 93 is absolute proof. Rader 2381.
