Discover the lesson of how faith in God helps us overcome our fears and biggest obstacles.
From the book of Judges, Dr. Hartman provides us with an in-depth historical narrative of Gideon. If you are unfamiliar with the story, prepare to learn: if you are already familiar with Gideon, get ready to know him in a more personal way.
Dr. Hartman writes with descriptive detail and vividness, which transports us to Gideon’s world, cheering him on.
Praise for Gideon, God’s Mighty Man of Valor
“Gideon, God's Mighty Man of Valor is a remarkable book, immersed in a moment in history when one man refused to succumb to his fears by trusting God. Gideon is a seemingly insignificant man of his tribe; his great faith in the Lord thrusts him forward to save the Israelites from the hands of the Midianites. Dr. Hartman writes with descriptive detail and vividness, which transports us to Gideon's world, cheering him on. A great lesson in the value of faith.”
—CLAUDIA PARKER, author
“I read this book in one day and didn't want it to end and wished I was reading it with a group! Well done! In Gideon, God's Man of Mighty Valor, Dr. Hartman weaves what we know of Gideon from the Bible with well-researched historical accuracy.
—BONNIE SMITH, RN, BSN, MFA
“Dr. Hartman takes the story of Gideon and explains it in a way that makes it extraordinarily relevant for us in the 21st century. With a mix of creative storytelling and biblical scholarship, Dr. Hartman gives his readers a chance to think deeply about their own lives.”
—STEVEN HARRIS, host, Kingdom of God Entrepreneur Show
“After I finished Gideon, God's Mighty Man of Valor, my overall reaction was wow! This book is a timeless tale of courage and humility, as relevant today as 3,000 years ago. A master at blend-ing biblical insight and historical context with compelling story-telling, Dr. Hartman reveals nuances shedding new light on Gideon, the man while challenging the reader to examine their faith. The most striking thing about Gideon, the man for me, was his prayer life and how his strength came from a consistent daily prayer practice that enabled him to trust and heed God's calling. The story is much like the present day, making this book a commentary on America in 2022.”
—JULIE WYCKOFF, business owner, M.ED
“Gideon, God's Mighty Man of Valor presents an in-depth and compelling historical narrative that brings Gideon to life in a personal way. Whether you are familiar with Gideon or not, Dr. Hartman invites the reader to reflect on their own life and how they acknowledge and answer God's calling. With compelling and thought-provoking faith questions, you will be challenged like Gideon as you are guided to the ultimate Judge, Jesus Christ!”
—RODNEY TILLOTSON, business owner
