Item description from seller

Half-Forgotten Books. With a critical and historical Introduction by E. A. Baker. Undated [1906]. Original uniform series binding in blue cloth framed in grey, illustrated in brown, black and white; lettered in gilt. Light marks at foot of rear board, otherwise very good. Ernest Baker was the author of the very useful Guide to the Best Fiction (1904) and Half-Forgotten Books was a series which attempted to rescue some "deserving" novels from the previous two centuries. The series ran to at least 18 volumes.
