Neuware - In the shadowy world of Southeast Asian martial arts, one man brought a deadly, nearly forgotten system to the West - and then seemed to vanish into legend. The Ghost System: Willem Reeders and the Lost Art of Kuntao reveals the extraordinary true story of Willem A. Reeders (1917-1990), the enigmatic master also known as Liu Seong.Born of mixed Dutch-Chinese heritage and raised in Indonesia, Reeders mastered a sophisticated family Kuntao system passed down through his great-uncle Liu Seong. A hybrid of Chinese close-range fighting arts and Indonesian Silat, his 'Ghost System' emphasized explosive power, practical combat efficiency, and secrets rarely shared outside bloodlines. In the late 1960s, Reeders arrived in America, teaching a lethal, no-nonsense style that influenced generations of serious martial artists.Author Jeffrey A. Cohen draws on historical records, firsthand accounts, and the living lineage to separate myth from reality - exploring Reeders' life against the backdrop of Dutch Indonesia, World War II, and the early days of Western interest in Asian fighting systems. This is the most complete portrait yet of the man and his elusive martial art.Discover the techniques, philosophy, and hidden history of one of the rarest and most effective Kuntao traditions ever brought to the West. Perfect for practitioners of Kuntao, Silat, Kung Fu, and anyone fascinated by authentic, underground martial arts.If you seek the real stories behind legendary systems like Liu Seong Kuntao, this is the definitive book.Uncover the Ghost System - before it fades forever.…
