Paperback. For Detective Elias Kovic, it was supposed to be his last case: a simple, open-and-shut murder in the most advanced research station on Earth, a sterile bubble of science buried deep in the frozen Alaskan tundra. But when he arrives, he finds a crime that defies logic-a brilliant geneticist found dead in a cryo-chamber, his body frozen solid, but the cause of death something the station's AI can't even comprehend.Trapped by a brutal solar storm and cut off from the world, Kovic is the only law in a land of ice and lies. The small crew of scientists are all suspects, each one with secrets to hide and a genius that could be used to kill. As he delves deeper, Kovic is haunted by whispers of a prehistoric monster resurrected from the permafrost, a creature of impossible power and intelligence that stalks the station's corridors. But in a place where reality itself is a weapon, the real threat isn't the monster in the vents-it's the ghost in the air.Forced into an uneasy alliance with a deadly operative and a resourceful pilot, Kovic must unravel a conspiracy that reaches the highest echelons of global power. To find the truth, this old-school cop, a relic in a world of digital ghosts, must learn that in a game where you can't trust what you see, the only thing you can trust is your gut. And his gut is telling him that saving the world might mean burning it all down. This item is printed on demand.
