About this title

Synopsis

For better or for worse, the mind never stops and never seems to sleep. It is capable of soaring to the heavens, then plunging into the heart of darkness. It is mercurial, unfathomable, and mysterious, and yet we live in the shadowed ignorance of its inner workings every moment of every day and night. The mind is so relentlessly compelling that man has tried to describe it, tame it, manage it, understand it, fathom it, control it, ignore it, grow it, teach it, and fix it since Gordo the first cavemen.

As a result, over the years, man created an observer self to help guide and quiet the mind, an observer self that could reason with an often unreasonable mind to ultimately find peace of mind. The observer self then developed shorthand sayings or aphorisms to prompt the mind to self-correct when necessary.

This is a collection of 101 of those aphorisms for better thinking and living.
