While entwined in the whirlwinds of event planning, you hear a quieting in your soul, and then poses the "other big question" - Will we last? Often, ladies, it's so easy to become enthralled by the "idea of marriage". Finding that special someone to "sweep you off of your feet" becomes the goal and soon distorts the idea that matrimony is not just a gesture, but rather a journey to be embarked upon, and what's more a "responsibility". As time begins to age and the anticipation grows, PONDER NO MORE. Author, Shei Atkins has well written and laid out all of the effective tools you need to not only "Get" your man, but "Keep" your man. Bearing ten solid chapters, "Get a Man, Keep a Man" is bound to become the book that single and married women alike won't leave home (or plan for a date, for that matter) without. Shei takes you on a journey from start to finish in this instructional masterpiece. She takes the "First things First" approach and begins Chapter one with all the preliminaries and preparations needed for a successful relationship. This is an extremely encouraging and uplifting work that bears a powerful message as the author so tenaciously strolls her way point by point through the chapters without apology. Get a Man, Keep a Man could not have been a more appropriate title for the first book written by this phenomenal author, singer, songwriter and fitness trainer. The inspiration behind this incredible work, no doubt, was birthed from extensive experience. A native of Houston, TX, Shei Atkins married her childhood sweetheart, Drathoven, (who is also her musical producer) at the tender age of nineteen. These two soul mates are the "apples of each other's eyes" and are currently enjoying an almost nine-year run of marriage going forward. After releasing three independent albums on a national scale, and having been a featured vocalist on the Grammy-nominated compilation released a few years ago, the twinkle behind Shei Atkins' star certainly shows no signs of fading. Shei has worked in the recording studio with industry giant, Beyonce' Knowles, and the likes of platinum-selling rap artists, Lil Flip, Paul Wall and Chamillionaire. She has also traveled the United States and abroad while sharing the spotlight with such notables as Mary J. Blige, Mary Mary, J. Moss, Kirk Franklin, Avant, Tonex, Fred Hammond, Tank, Mario, Lil Mama, B5, Trey Songs and even an international European tour with the Grammy Award-winning Kelly Rowland. While it soon became obvious that National Recording Artist, Shei Atkins, was a worthwhile asset to all of these endeavors, the demand for her electrifying, yet warm presentation, became more and more in-demand and Shei even went on to be featured in one of America's largest publications, VIBE Magazine. The social networking sites quickly climbed from buzz to ring regarding Shei's honesty and transparency about love, life experiences and relationships mixed with healing and faith, all themes in her music which have led to her current fame. In response, young women from all over began to reach out to her in pursuit of answers and solutions to the everyday issues of life. Using her heartfelt earnest
