From the Publisher
What makes it so difficult for people to change, to go beyond their usual limitations? Gesture of Balance offers the answer. "The secret it reveals is the open secret of a way of being that is readily available to us in each moment." –AHP Newsletter.
The warm, intimate discussions of Gesture of Balance evoke a deeper self-understanding that becomes a guide to healing and awareness. Its step-by-step approach teaches how to make direct contact with sensory perception, feelings, images, and thoughts. Once in contact with experience, we can learn how to balance mental, emotional, and physical energies. This balance increases wellness of both body and mind and greatly improves the quality of life.
Written in clear, precise language, Gesture invites an investigation into the nature of mind, the emotions, and wholesome and destructive patterns of behavior. It offers a profound solution to the problem of human frustration and stress, identifying both the root causes and the exact methods for their alleviation. It is a book that people return to again and again, always finding new riches. Chapters include: Opening the Heart, Awakening Compassion, Transforming Anxiety, and Awakening Inner confidence.
"This volume is a translation of very complex ideological systems into a straightforward message on how to use Buddhism in one’s day-to-day life." –Choice Magazine.
