Synopsis

The Panzer II was Germany’s first cannon-armed tank in the post World War I era. Designed and initially produced under the code name of 100-horsepower Farm Tractor, owing to the restrictions of the Treaty of Versailles, the Panzer II remained in production, and in the field, well after it had been surpassed by better engineered, more heavily armed and armored vehicles, and indeed played a key part in the early victories achieved by the Blitzkrieg. Almost 200 scarce wartime photos, illuminated by detailed captions, fill the 168-pages of this hardbound volume.

About the Author

Commissioned to write his first book in 2003, a 512-page volume on the history of US military vehicles, since that time over 100 of his books have been published. While most of these concern historic military hardware, including aircraft and warships, his volumes on military vehicles, meticulously researched by David and his wife Denise, remain the genre for which he is most recognized. This recognition reached its pinnacle in June 2015, when he was presented the coveted Bart Vanderveen Award by the Military Vehicle Preservation Association, given in recognition of "...the individual who has contributed the most to the historic preservation of military vehicles worldwide."
