"Sales/posting to the USA suspended". Hard cover dust wrapper, quarto, 296pp, b&w photos. Light wear on edges, free corners of boards lightly bumped; a very good copy. During WWII, Hartmann brought down 352 enemy aircraft to win the Diamonds to his Knight's Cross and become the premier fighter pilot in the history of aerial warfare. After the war, the US Army turned him over to the Russians where he was condemned as a war criminal and spent the next ten years in Soviet jails. This is an illustrated account of his life and military career: captioned photos chronicling the various phases of his life, accompanied by Jager's introduction.
