Item description from seller

As new book, some very slight yellowing of pages around edges. Full-colour reproduction of a detail of 'Jolly Flatboatmen in Port' in glossy laminated dust jacket front cover. The book contains 85 illustrations, including 50 plates in full colour. Bingham, the 'great Missouri artist' lived from 1811-1879, and recorded life on the American frontier in all its adventurousness, vitality and heroism - a unique synthesis of water, landscape, boats and people that has established him as one of America's foremost artists. Other contributors include Paul C. Nagel, Barbara Groseclose, Elizabeth Johns, and John Wilmerding as well as Michael Edward Shapiro, Chief Curator at the Saint Louis Art Museum. This is a heavy book and will require extra postage outside the UK.
