It covers basic and advanced genetic principles including the genetics of reproduction, coat colour, skeletal traits, hip dysplasia, eyes, circulatory system and the central nervous system, the mode of inheritance of specific traits met with in dogs, selection and methods of mating and recording systems. It also looks at behaviour, breeding systems, selection and inbreeding. The book is aimed at the novice and the expert alike and the breeds discussed are from many countries of the world.
