Print on Demand. This 1874 commentary on the biblical Book of Genesis brings the best of 19th century German scholarship into dialogue with a 2,000-year-old rabbinic tradition. The author considers the unity of Genesis despite its diverse sources, and argues that the text presents a history of God’s selection of Israel from among the nations, and the ethical and legal principles that were to guide their lives. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.
