Volume 1, with tan cloth covers with maroon lettering and design to front covers and spine. Spine tight. Pages with slight yellowing with age but clean and unmarked. It is the purpose of this Reading Plan to provide a way into the Great Books for readers who would like help in thier first reading of them. Since this is a general introduction, no attempt has been made to orient this Reading Plan around one subject or one theme. Instead, we have tried to provide fifteen selections that are at once interesting, diverse, easy enough to be rewarding on a first reading and difficult enough to offer a challenge to all readers, experts as well as beginners.
