About this Item
94 p. 22 cm. Pink paper covers are sunned, chipped at spine, and have label on front. Ink stamps and ink notation inside front cover. Some spotting to front endpaper. Due to suppression, Jesuit property was transferred to the Lower Canada government and their revenues applied to education. When the Jesuit order was re-established they put in a claim for their estates. The Quebec government effected a compromise which caused a great storm in the House of Commons and Ontario. In Ontario the Equal Rights Association was formed to protest the settlement, and, due to its influence, separate schools were abolished in Manitoba. This pamphlet collects some arguments in the news as well as letters to the editor. Seller Inventory # 1369
