- Book 3 of 3: Luna the Firefly's Bedtime Journeys
A Garden of Goodnight is a gentle, nature-rich bedtime story that helps little ones settle, feel safe, and drift to sleep. When the garden grows quiet and the moon rises, Luna the Firefly begins her soft nightly round—comforting friends who are almost ready for bed and showing them calm, repeatable steps that turn busy thoughts into peaceful dreams. Chapters include Snail in his cabbage curl, Mouse in the strawberry patch, Caterpillar on the sunflower, Frog by the lily pond, Kitten in the barn loft, a tender Farewell Song, and a closing “Sweet Dreams” spoken directly to the listening child. :contentReference[oaicite:0]
With patient, lullaby-like language and soothing imagery—dew that rests on clover, lily pads that hold still as the moon’s reflection, hay that shapes itself into a nest—Luna guides each friend through simple bedtime games: slow breathing, naming three gentle moments from the day, listening for safe night sounds, counting “enough,” and letting worries grow quiet. Every visit ends with Luna’s tender refrain:
“Blink, blink, goodnight.
Soft and small, and just right.”
- Calming routine built in: Repeatable steps (breathe, listen, remember, rest) reduce bedtime battles and cue relaxation.
- Comforting repetition: A familiar pattern and closing lullaby make rereads soothing for children and easy for caregivers.
- Nature & animals: Friendly garden scenes with Snail, Mouse, Caterpillar, Frog, and Kitten make nighttime feel safe—not scary.
- Read-aloud rhythm: Short, lyrical sections with natural pauses for snuggles, deep breaths, and “one more page.”
- For ages 3–8: Ideal for toddlers, preschoolers, and early readers who love gentle animal stories and predictable bedtime rituals.
- Snail: Turn a shell into a “bedtime nest,” tuck pebble-worries away, breathe slow.
- Mouse: A “strawberry bedtime,” choose three kind night-guards, curl into a safe little ball.
- Caterpillar: “Calm bites,” imagine a soft chrysalis, keep three sweet moments for dreams.
- Frog: The ripple game—breaths that widen and fade like circles on water.
- Kitten: “Purr-breath,” heavy paws like warm bread, a hay-bowl nest that rises to meet you.
- Farewell & Sweet Dreams: Luna gathers the garden’s quiet and sings directly to the child.
- Set the scene: Dim lights and read in a soft, unhurried voice.
- Breathe together: In like the night filling your chest, out like the day saying goodbye.
- Pick “night guards”: The moon, the brook, the crickets—friendly keepers till morning.
- Close with the refrain: Repeat Luna’s lullaby as a dependable sleep cue.
Series note: A Garden of Goodnight is part of the Luna the Firefly Bedtime Journeys—stand-alone, cozy stories that share the same comforting structure and lullaby. Collect them to create a peaceful nightly ritual your child will ask for again and again.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
