Some games give you a prize.
This one wants your soul.
Every seven years, a house appears on Hallowell campus, wrapped in ivy and rumor. Ten students step inside. One walks out with a wish. The others are never seen again.
When Ella Rowe's twin brother vanishes during initiation week, the school blames a freak building collapse. Ella knows better. His last message shows the Hallowed House in the background and seven terrible words
If I win, I can fix everything.
To drag him back from whatever lives between the walls, Ella does the one thing every story says never do. She says yes.
Inside, the halls twist, doors breathe, and nightmares walk beside her. Nine trials stand between Ella and the heart of the house, each built from her deepest fear and darkest want. Fail, and the house eats you. Quit, and it eats someone you love instead.
Warren Carson is the golden boy everyone on campus trusts, perfect smile, perfect grades, perfect family name on the library wall. Inside the House he is something else. The Keeper. The monster wrapped in a school uniform, bound by a contract and a blood soaked legacy.
He knows every trick the House can play. He knows how many players he has already buried. And from the first time he sees Ella bleeding at the gate, he knows he should let her lose.
Instead, he makes her a bargain. He will get her through all nine trials and bring Justin back, and in return the House can have ten years of Ella's life if they win.
The House wants their fear.
The Board wants their secrets.
The wish at the end wants a new Keeper.
Ella wants all of them to choke.
As the trials turn classmates into enemies and whispered stories into real ghosts, the line between captor and savior blurs. Warren's touch steadies the screaming walls. Ella's stubborn heart drags him toward a future he was never meant to have. And the House starts to learn a new lesson, some prey bite back.
If she wants to save her brother, burn the game, and keep the boy who was built to betray her, Ella will have to do the one thing no winner has ever dared
Refuse the wish and make the monster hers.
