But, Leslie Bendaly, a leading specialist in teamwork and group dynamics and author of the bestselling Games Teams Play, gives trainers just what they need in More Games Teams Play. These games and activities will help your team develop the communication, cohesiveness and group dynamics characteristic of a high performance team. And have fun at the same time!
Short games and activities lend themselves to small team meetings and team building workshops, while larger, experiential exercises spark fun and teamwork at large corporate events. Ranging in length from a few minutes to a few hours, the trainer can use a single activity or link several together to design team development workshops.
Comprehensive step-by-step instructions make these multi-purpose team building activities easy to use. Each game includes:
-objectives and an overview for greater depth of knowledge and understanding of the game
-planning details such as time required to complete the game, room set-up and materials needed
-step-by-step instructions for the preparation and facilitation of the activity
-hand-outs, transparency masters and game pieces to use and reproduce as needed
-detailed debriefing notes including possible questions and likely responses
In addition to providing more than 30 new activities, More Games Teams Play provides you with the tools for training and coaching sessions whether you are a new trainer, an experienced facilitator, or a manager leading an in-house team. You will find:
-a list of games that rates the level of facilitation skill required and the planning and preparation needed
-a Game Selection Index which identifies developmental elements addressed by a particular game
-Tips for Facilitators which provide advice on such topics as back-up plans, knowing the group and the importance of debriefing
-guidelines and tips on Creating an Effective Workshop including worksheets for Team Agreements and Personal Commitments to Action
And an updated and revised Team Fitness Test which will help you assess the team's development needs!
Bendaly even gives you her top five picks for conferences and company meetings. More Games Teams Play is the resource you need to help your teams reach greater levels of achievement.
