From karting kids to world champions – the true stories of five Formula One legends, retold for young readers with free audiobooks.
Every Formula One legend started somewhere – usually in a kart, on a local track, with a dream far bigger than their years. Greatest of the Grid tells the incredible true stories of five of the sport's greatest drivers: Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel. Featuring talents from across the globe, each book follows a unique journey to the top – the setbacks, the breakthroughs and the high-pressure battles on the international stage – with a QR code in every book linking to a free audiobook so children can listen along as they read.
True stories do something special for developing readers: they hook children who haven't yet found the book that gets them. For schools, the set feeds Key Stage 2 biography units and topic work on significant individuals; for parents, it's the race-weekend companion – and the rare gift where everyone in the family has 'their' driver, from Senna's era to Verstappen's.
Ideal for:
- Ages 7–9 · Key Stage 2 (Years 3–5)
- Young Formula One fans and the new generation of race-weekend families
- Hooking reluctant readers with true stories
- KS2 biography and significant-individuals topic work
- Pairing with The Greatest Cricket Stars and Football Stars collections
- Birthday, Christmas and race-season gifts
- Each driver's story also available as a single book
