Published in London by J. Taylor in 1820 this is the second edition of this early work on repairing roads by Thomas Telford, book is bound in the scarce original drab boards with paper title label to upper board, 9 inches tall approx., 8pp plus engraved plate, bound in at rear is a 20 page publishers catalogue. cCovers are rubbed at edges, minor loss of paper covering to spine, minor marks else covers in good original condition. Internally a few minor marks else contents in good condition Thomas Telford FRS, FRSE (1757-1834) was a Scottish civil engineer, architect and stonemason, and road, bridge and canal builder. After establishing himself as an engineer of road and canal projects in Shropshire, he designed numerous infrastructure projects in his native Scotland, as well as harbours and tunnels.
