The GCSE Performance Pieces series provides exciting contemporary repertoire levelled specifically for GCSE performance examinations, accompanied by expert commentary to help your students prepare and achieve their potential with material they really want to play. This book contains pieces for Voice.
Each book in the GCSE Performance Pieces series has been compiled by an experienced instrumental teacher/examiner, and overseen by our Series Editor, Andrew Coxon, who is a senior GCSE examiner and an experienced classroom teacher. The songs have been carefully chosen to provide students with the best opportunity to show off their instrument and skills, with a broad range of artists and styles to choose from.
This Voice book features:
- Material suitable for all exam boards
- Ten songs with a range of difficulty appropriate for around Grades 3 to 6
- A CD accompaniment of professionally recorded backing tracks, so that you can hear exactly how each song is meant to sound, allowing you to master every song
The book includes a range of songs, from 1968's Son Of A Preacher Man, to two of Adele's biggest hits, Someone Like You and Rolling In The Deep. Every song should be immediately familiar, but if not, you can enjoy discovering and then singing a great new song. With other songs by Bruno Mars, Pixie Lott and Ed Sheeran included, this book is perfect for nailing a contemporary song that you enjoy listening to, and so will enjoy singing. Every song includes a page of information about it, detailing the key, range and some really useful performance tips.
Helpfully, a YouTube playlist has been created containing all the songs in the book, along with additional suggested listening such as interesting cover versions or other songs for cultural context, allowing the student to explore ideas for their own interpretation.
