In this classic on practical godliness, John Piper sets out
what Christ has accomplished for us in redemption, and what he requires of
us in our responses to him in faith, love and obedience. For Piper, `future
grace' refers to God's promised transforming power at work now in the lives
of his people, which provides true satisfaction in Christ-centred living by
forward-looking faith.

John Piper shows how, by prizing the promises of God, believers can break
free from the power of specific, destructive sins: anxiety, pride,
misplaced shame, impatience, covetousness, bitterness, despondency and
lust

Rooted in solid biblical reflection, these passionate and readable
meditations are divided into thirty-one chapters to aid devotional reading
each day of the month. They offer a sure pathway to a revitalized
evangelical spirituality.

John Piper has been senior pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church,
Minneapolis, since 1980. he is the director of Desiring god Ministries and
the author of a number of books including 'Desiring god', 'God's passion
for his Glory', 'Let the nations be glad', 'Tested by fire' and 'Seeing and
savouring Jesus Christ'.
