The Funtastic Police Cases of Officer Holt: Banana Rascal and the Kids Patrol
In this delightful children's book, young readers embark on an exciting journey that seamlessly blends real-life inspiration with imaginative storytelling.
Librarians, educators, and book retailers will find this book a must-have addition to their collections-not only because it is based on a true story, but also because it offers valuable lessons wrapped in a fun and engaging narrative. The story introduces Officer Holt, a seasoned police officer known for his skill in handling dangerous situations. When an unusual call about a mischievous monkey on the loose in a Miami-Dade neighborhood comes in, Officer Holt faces a unique challenge: catching the elusive monkey while ensuring the safety of the residents.
Young readers will learn about teamwork and friendship as Officer Holt enlists the help of a squad of neighborhood kids, each on their bikes, to assist in the monkey-catching mission. Together, they showcase the power of collaboration, resourcefulness, and community spirit.
What makes this story even more special is its real-life inspiration. Author Charlie Holt draws from his own experiences as a retired deputy and detective with the Miami-Dade Police Department, making the tale both authentic and relatable. The monkey case that inspired this book highlights how unexpected situations can bring people together for a common purpose.
Furthermore, this book fosters positive relationships and subtly reinforces the importance of strong police-community bonds. It's not just entertaining; it's also a valuable resource for teaching children about safety, friendship, and cooperation. Whether placed in school libraries, public libraries, or personal collections, this book promises adventure, heartwarming moments, and valuable life lessons.
Join Officer Holt and the Kids Patrol as they chase down a mischievous monkey, and discover the magic of working together to keep their community safe.
Other works by Charlie Holt include "There's a Spider in My Sink!" (2022) and "Why Bats Hang Upside Down and How the Apache Got Fire" (2023), both of which have captivated young readers. His engaging storytelling and relatable characters make his books stand out in the world of children's literature.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
