Alwin 'Bobby' Watts combines his often funny and memorable stories of his own life in horse racing with stories of his great friend, John Lawrence, who later inherited the title 4th Baron Trevethin and 2nd Baron Oaksey and became known as Lord Oaksey. a household name as a journalist, racing correspondent for ITV and Channel 4 and amateur jockey. Great friends as stable boys together from an early age, Alwin recalls amongst other stories the day of John Lawrence's wedding, their fun together tobogganing in the snow, and letting a herd of pigs loose in Major Ginger Dennistoun's house. A fascinating insight into the world behind the training of top race horses and some of the funny events that can occur in this unique world.
