About the Author: Derek Rowland is a civil engineer, children's book author, and proud girl dad. He lives in Colorado with his wife, three high-speed daughters, and their fluffy (and famously stinky) dog, Hamish.Growing up with two brothers, Derek never imagined his future would involve dance recitals, gymnastics meets, or late-night cello practice, but he wouldn't have it any other way. Inspired by the wild energy and nonstop creativity of his real-life daughters, he created Full Speed Sisters, a book series that celebrates modern girlhood through adventure, problem-solving, and heart.By day, Derek manages heavy construction projects; by night, he's wrangling homework, shuttling kids around, and sketching out the next story idea.
