Complete in fourteen volumes, 1837–1850 — including the scarce final volume (1850) almost universally missing from surviving sets. Uniformly bound in full contemporary leather with raised bands and gilt spine labels; a matched set kept together since publication. The collected journals, treatises, and memoirs of the founding generation of Quakerism: William Penn, Thomas Ellwood, Thomas Story, John Fothergill, Richard Davies, and many others. Fourteen genuine antebellum Philadelphia imprints forming a primary-source history of the Society of Friends. Bindings strong and intact throughout; some separation on first volume but binding remains very tight, some top endcap damage on another but not coming apart, several inscriptions - most in pencil, some foxing - honest age-appropriate wear only. Questions are welcome. You won't run across another set like this soon. Curated by Blackwood Foundlings.

Store description
We rescue books from scatter. Attics, estate sales, shelves long emptied—the volumes we find carry the gravity of having been loved before. Specializing in antiquarian sets, fine bindings (half-calf, gilt, marbled boards), and literary curiosities from the 18th–20th centuries. Our standard: honest photography, precise description, fair pricing. Each item is singular. We do not deal in remaindered forgettables. If you believe a shelf should hold more than screens—that permanence and bound paper still matter—you are the reader and friend we simply haven't met yet. Lost libraries, found again. Welcome to Blackwood Foundlings.…
