Forget about specialist silk screens and bulky printing presses, for her latest book in the Simple Makes series, Christine Leech has devised 20 easy-to-make-at-home printing projects that use commonly found equipment, from the Lacey Casey printed pillowcases that are created by wrapping a piece of broderie anglaise lace around a rolling pin to the Button Boots using buttons to give a quirky alternative to a polka dot print.
The book contains all the techniques needed to create the projects, including a quick and easy version of lino cutting, printing with bleach, natural sun printing and trace-off motifs needed for particular designs. From the Feather Cushion for your home to the Nordic Forest Tote Bag and Rainy Day Brolly, you'll soon be covering everything formerly plain in prints!
