Pierre Roulet V is a vintner, a fencing master, and a respected Vicomte of Marseilles. On three other continents, he is Frenchy LeGrande - the most charming pirate to ever swashbuckle away from a noose, and the son of a pirate legend. He has earned a winter at home, and he fully intends to enjoy it.

Then a woman walks into his fencing studio looking for her missing father. A woman he once vowed he would one day woo, wed, or kidnap, because... semantics. A woman whose beauty would make him risk starting a war with England.

What follows lands Frenchy inside the Chateau d'If - an island fortress rising from the cold waters off Marseilles, from which no prisoner has ever escaped - at the mercy of a sadistic magistrate who wants to know the location of Bloody Bob Morgan's gold. Frenchy has no intention of telling him. He also has no intention of staying.

He makes three promises: to escape the unescapable before his true identity is discovered, to come back for the men who put him there, and to leave no friend behind.

In this sequel to Neckbeard the Awesome Pirate, the Neckbeard universe expands into the Mediterranean, the French nobility, and a notorious prison. Fast, funny, and occasionally moving - this is a swashbuckling adventure for readers who crave characters they can fall in love with and villains they want to throat-punch, without all of the gratuitous filler. But there will be insults about somebody's sister or mother, of that you can be certain.
